Interpretation of Genesis 12: 1- 9

(Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house.....) 

 

Inasmuch as we all have our interpretations of various scriptures in the bible, I will like us to know that the Bible is a book filled with directions on the good pathway that man can follow through and have an expected end. We as men ought to study the bible as we would study our textbooks or a work/product manual, not as we skim through newspapers, magazines, mails, storybooks, or pages on social media, we ought to consciously study and meditate on the word of God. Read the Bible with complete concentration so that you can understand what the scripture is saying and where it is taking you to. Your attention is highly needed whenever you are studying the Bible else the devil will take you for a ride by means of introducing his own opinions to you and preventing you from placing complete focus. 

Let's examine the depth of the book of Genesis 12:1-9 and its relevance in our present-day:

1. Instructions are for our own good: As far as the earth is concerned, your blessings are tied to the instructions you are open and willing to obey. You don't receive rewards until you have fully obeyed the instructions given to you. Your next step to life's accomplishment requires total obedience to instructions as instructions serve as guidelines to carry out our Vision.
2. Change is needed at every stage: For every shift, there is a change that must come from you first before it can be seen by others. In order to enjoy life, succeed, be on top and be honored, you have to be willing to change. Change is a must for everyone seeking to rise above ground level and for your change to be sound and solid, it must first begin from your mind.
3. Don't be short-sighted: When your master has given you an instruction on what to do, do it. Short sight has been the problem of many today as nobody is willing to see beyond where they are, they are so focused on their circumstances, therefore, paying little attention to what their future has to offer. One of the major causes of short-sightedness as regards to seeing a greater tomorrow is a poor state of the mind and as a result of this, it gives room for failures, confusion and repetitive circle. Work on your mind, develop it and you will see the big picture for your future.
4. Your Physical body is needed: For any accomplishment, you seek, you must take care of your body, not just to enjoy the good things that God has in store for you but to also work through the unpleasant things too. Don't be careless or nonchalant about your physical body because even your father Abram was not careless with his body.
5. Faith and trust are required for all accomplishments: Whenever God is leading you to the pathway of your blessing, your faith, and trust level must be consistently high and active. Put your faith in him, trust him and believe that he is the God of possibilities. Knowing fully well that as he did it with Abram, he is equally able to do it with you too; provided that you fully trust him alone to take you to your promised land.
